Salary :- $50,000 - $55,000

We have an outstanding career opportunity for a Staff Accountant to join a global leader focused on a philanthopic mission for our military troops. This role will be located in Arlington VA and does not require a clearance.

We are looking for a Staff Accountant who will Help maintain general ledger records, including supporting documentation for journal entries. Record daily bank activity in general ledger (checkbook) and reconcile all bank accounts on a daily basis, which includes the tracking of outstanding checks. Responsible for researching and resolving reconciling items.

This position is full-time and is located in Arlington, Virginia and will report to the Director of Marketing.

Core Working Hours: 8:30 am to 5:00 pm



Primary Responsibilities:




Help maintain general ledger records, including supporting documentation for journal entries


Record daily bank activity in general ledger (checkbook) and reconcile all bank accounts on a daily basis, which includes the tracking of outstanding checks. Responsible for researching and resolving reconciling items


Process Accounts Payable; verify invoices for accuracy prior to payment; verify compliance with Navy Mutual’s policies and procedures and investigate authenticity of charges; provide effective administration of wire transfers


Record monthly and quarterly journal entries on a timely basis


Maintain selected subsidiary ledgers as needed and assist in the reconciliation of subsidiary account balances on a monthly basis


Maintain fixed assets schedules and record monthly depreciation expense


Research and reconcile suspense accounts on a daily basis


Assist other departments with member requests, including but not limited to re-issuing and/or voiding checks

Qualifications/Characteristics:


Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and 2 years of accounting experience, with an understanding of accounting concepts is a must.


Must have a solid knowledge of MS Office applications, including Excel and Word.


Experience working with a general ledger and chart of accounts is needed, Microsoft Dynamics is a plus.
