Adecco is Hiring for a Store Operations Manager for one of our clients on the Northwest Side of Chicago!

The Store Operations manager will manage the retail operations to meet the goals and objectives set by the GM - ensuring efficient daily store operations, prompt, friendly, knowledgeable customer service, and store security and cleanliness.

Qualifications:
- Supervisory experience: hiring, training, evaluating, firing
- Retail experience � ideally in the natural foods industry
- Ability to read financial statements, write budgets, analyze trends
- A strong understanding of pricing and margin, able to teach this topic and hold staff accountable for results
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Demonstrated leadership ability

Requirements:
- All candidates should have at least 2 + years supervisory experience, in a retail, store, restaurant, or hospitality environment
- Candidates should have understanding of how to maintain, plan, and analyze to run a cost-efficient business operation and demonstrated history of success doing so
- Candidates should have excellent customer service and customer focused background
- Bachelor�s Degree in Business or Operational Management related field is a plus
- Candidates should have passion for community, organic and locally sourced food, sustainability and the environment

1. Customer Service Basics:
- Provide excellent customer service to our shoppers, marking the customer's needs top priority whenever on the sales floor or answering the phone
- Share information with our shoppers about store happenings, educational opportunities, etc
- Provide excellent internal customer service to all staff members, maintaining an attitude of goodwill toward self and others
- Help to create a work environment that is cooperative, fun, productive, and safe, and that focuses on solutions

2. Planning and Finance:
- Participate in development of annual operating, capital and cash budgets for store
- With GM, set objectives for department sales, margin, turns and labor costs
- Monitor deviations from budget, take corrective actions, and report to GM
- Review department financial performance reports with managers and help them plan corrective actions as needed
- Plan and implement store layout and product locations for shopping and stocking efficiency
- Approve capital expenditures within budget of up to $500

3. Store Operations:
- Maintain store standards for prompt, friendly service
- Ensure that store and ground are meeting Health Department standards
- Oversee repair and maintenance projects
- Coordinate any major projects with department managers
- Troubleshoot and coordinate with service providers
- Ensure that store equipment is maintained
- Coordinate physical inventory counts
- Accompany any government inspectors

4. Supervision:
- Hire and evaluate department manager positions and maintenance staff
- Approve hiring for all other store positions
- Ensure all store employees receive orientations, safety training and on the job training
- Ensure all store employees receive timely performance evaluations
- Recommend pay increases, disciplinary actions for all store employees
- Review department payroll reports to track labor costs
