SUBROGATION Claims ADJUSTER

General Summary:
This position is responsible for collection efforts on subrogation property claims arising out of Renters, Condo, Mobile Home, Homeowners and Lender Placed identified by subrogation analytics. This position corresponds with insureds, claimants, attorneys, vendors and other insurance carriers. Manages a caseload of subrogation files in a high production environment.

DUTIES and ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Demonstrates telephone customer service skills
Organizes and prioritizes work to assure accuracy and productivity targets are met.
Effectively works independently
Documents and preserves all verbal and written communication in the claims system.
Determines likelihood of subrogation recovery and documents files accordingly.
Identifies potentially responsible parties and prepares appropriate demands.
Investigates individuals or other entities where subrogation claims can be made.
Communicates with external parties including but not limited to claimants, insureds, witnesses, attorneys and/or other insurance carriers regarding subrogation recoveries and/or investigations into claims in a prompt, accurate and professional manner.
Negotiates settlements of subrogation claims within authority, make recommendations where approval is required.
Prepares and maintains subrogation files, correspondence, legal documents and other information.
Keeps all files on active diary and maximizes subrogation recoveries on assigned claims.
Assures proper crediting of subrogation payments received.
Establishes and maintains accurate loss and expense reserves for assigned claims.
Conducts investigations into assigned claims, including but not limited to ordering police reports, completing ISO filings, other outside vendors, managing these resources accordingly. Accurately evaluates and settles assigned claims within approved authority; recommends settlements and seeks approval when appropriate.
Provides detailed instructions to company approved business partners and properly controls expenses.
Maintains compliance with applicable Department of Insurance regulations.
Keeps direct supervisor informed of significant developments in all assigned claims.

EXPERIENCE:

1-2 years prior property claims subrogation experience.
Prefer experience with homeowners/renter’s background.
High school diploma
College degree or Technical training preferred
Well versed and extremely proficient in navigating computer
Strong multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, systems and web pages all in a single session
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel
Excellent communication skills, both written, oral and phone etiquette
Strong problem-solving skills, with an attention to detail
Conflict Resolution skills
Excellent attendance and punctuality
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Ability to effectively work time sensitive cases in a very fast paced production environment
Proven analytical and organizational skills
