Adecco Direct Placement is recruiting on behalf of our esteemed client in Greensboro, NC for the position of Supplier Development Engineer. In this role, the Supplier Development Engineer is responsible for developing, qualifying suppliers leading to improvements in quality, delivery, and cost. The Supplier Development Engineer will also be responsible for promoting and facilitating the implementation of Fortive Business System within the supply base.  Manage the Quality performance of multiple critical electronics categories. This position requires the engineer to support multiple electronics suppliers across region. Requires expertise needs to the design, manufacturing techniques, standards, and continuous improvement methodologies (TPS, Lean, Six Sigma, DBS).
 A key contributor in the development, and implement global processes and policy to ensure commonality
 Responsible for championing onsite supplier process characterization (continuous improvement) efforts, supplier yield & capacity improvement.
 Responsible for performing periodic quality assessments of their assigned focus suppliers and sub-categories as defined in the Global Focus Supplier process.
 Responsible for performing periodic quality risk assessments of their assigned suppliers and/or sub-categories
 Establish and carry out programs to assure supplier material quality and reliability levels will consistently be within levels required
 Recommend test and inspection equipment and methods as required to achieve quality goals Lead Quality Meetings with suppliers and develop and monitor continuous improvement plans
 The candidate must be able to independently solve problems and be able to recommend and/or drive corrective actions while utilizing and sharing the FBS toolbox.
 Drive Supply Chain level product improvement back to engineering during the NPI phases and/or as identified during continuous improvement activities.
 Support and drive the process to identify, develop, and qualify suppliers as assigned
 Interface with product development teams to identify and qualify potential suppliers, including OEM partners.
 Evaluate and improve supplier capacity to meet our client's quality, delivery, and cost objectives utilizing the FBS toolbox.
 Drive ever-improving results by leveraging FBS tools, consulting skills, and change management process.
 Monitor and report on quality metrics and progress toward quality goals including, Supplier PPM and Supplier Scorecard. Lead the effort to improve metrics.
 Assist in achieving business unit Policy Deployment and Strategic Plan Regional or global objectives
 Become the regional Supplier FBS trainer and coach for assigned region (Internal and External within the Global Supply Chain). Must pursue Master Black Belt certification in FBS tools.
 Drive the Kaizen way of life. Ensure 3 productive kaizen events per year with resulting in no less than 10% cost down, 20% PPM, 30% delivery improvement, or other approved event topic.
 Coaching and training IPO SQE in FBS tools and implementing Global Quality control process at our client's China based sites.

 Must be hands-on and detail-oriented but also able to see the big picture (globally and regionally). Need to be able to think strategically and view the business from a general management standpoint. Must be very customer focused and have strong interpersonal and communications skills. Will need to be a quick study who can rapidly adapt to company culture and gain the confidence of the global organization. This person will be high energy and able to handle conflict. Will be an independent worker, capable of operating in a fast-moving, ever changing environment and able to effectively deal with difficult situations.
 Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in a technical discipline Electrical. (required) Masters (Preferred)
 7 years + experience Engineering experience and Supplier Quality Management Engineer (required)
 Prior experience in a Supplier Development or Senior Supplier Quality role. (required)
 Basic Engineering knowledge in DOE, FMEA, SPC, Process Characterization,- Sufficient command of the principles of statistics and quality assurance systems, and PPAP. (required)
 Prior experiences in the development or implementation of a continuous improvement program that can design, develop, and implement a Supplier FBS roadmap. (Required)
 Knowledge of various manufacturing processes: electronics PCB, assembly (pick&place), wave flow, and test methods. (Required)
 Ability to accurately assess key business metrics and situations from a “general manager’s” point of view. (Preferred)
 Basic understanding of effective quality systems and methodologies (ISO / TS).
 Understands internal and external business environment, practices, and trends in quality management.
 Demonstrates strategic thinking and champions innovative ideas.
 Able to make decisions of moderate to high complexity that impact schedules/deliverables of projects.
 Utilizes resourcefulness/negotiation to effectively leverage and focus needed resources across organizational and geographical boundaries.
 Ability to work regional and global level projects.
 Able to develop and deliver professional presentation or training to suppliers, internal associates, and senior leaders.
 Basic understanding of LEAN and/or TPS fundamentals
 Applicant must demonstrate the ability to interpret component specifications for the purpose of anticipating design or part discrepancies that will lead to part quality or reliability problems.
