Job Title: Supply Chain Operations Analyst

Location: San Jose, CA

Pay: $45.00 - $55.00/hr

Length of Assignment: 1 year with the opportunity to extend to 2 years 

Our  Supply Chain team is looking for an Operations Analyst that will lead new and improved capabilities to our  operations across the United States. Performance metrics and launch dates must be met, but that must be balanced with a focus on our internal/external customers and cost targets. 

 

The Supply Chain Analyst  will ensure that a product and/or process is fit for purpose by partnering upstream with Product Managers, Engineers, Finance Managers and also downstream with Project Managers and Operation Managers.

You will help provide quantitative support, market understanding and a strategic perspective to our partners throughout the organization. As a data-loving member of the team, you serve as an analytics expert for your partners, using numbers to help make better decisions. You weave stories with meaningful insight from data. You make critical recommendations for your fellow team members in Operations, Engineering and Product Management. You also love Process Design, SOP Development, with emphasis on Process Standardization to remove waste.  As a self-starter, you relish tallying up the numbers one minute and communicating your findings to a team leader the next.

The Supply Chain Analyst requires an expert in logistics operations with superb analytical skills and a proven track record of delivering results.  It will also require cross functional collaboration with key stakeholders across the organization, so excellent communication and collaboration skills are a must.  

Attention to detail is critical, but must be balanced with keeping an eye on the big picture to ensure competing dependencies are aligned for key milestone dates.  Finally, you must influence cross-functionally as necessary to ensure key objectives are met.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain Dashboards/Reports and analyze data using SQL scripts.

  • Communicate, orally and on paper, to senior stakeholders.

  • Work with program managers, product managers, software engineers and other partners to define metrics (and their corresponding data sources) needed to understand business activity.

  • Develop data pipelines to enable ongoing reporting of analyses.

  • Present analyses in key cross-functional forums to enable decision-making, and collect requirements from these stakeholders for follow-up analyses.

Minimum qualifications

  • BA/BS degree with an emphasis on work of a quantitative nature (Statistics, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics), or equivalent practical experience.

  • 2+ years combined experience in Logistics Operations and/or Supply Chain

  • Experience working with data sets coming from multiple disparate data sources, with coding experience to build pipelines that pull from and join these sources.

  • Experience translating business questions to analytical tasks.

  • Data analysis experience, with experience in database querying (SQL), working with statistical packages for analysis and modeling, forecasting and spreadsheets.

Preferred qualifications

  • Master's degree with emphasis on coursework of a quantitative nature (Statistics, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics).

  • Experience with statistical work (R, SAS, MATLAB), quantitative modeling, and machine learning background.

  • Experience with JavaScript

  • Extensive experience with data visualization tools.

  • Relevant industry experience in shopping/e-commerce/Supply Chain/Transportation.
