Job Duties:

  • Working from guidelines provided by the Supervisor Production Planning and/or the Manager Production Planning; implement defined inventory and production plans for all the assigned product types, locations, and resources (Internal and Outside Processors) to ensure the most effective utilization of company assets (personnel, machinery, and material while minimizing working capital.)
  • Develop and publish mill and finishing production plans per established guidelines.
  • Define scrap and coil steel requirements that are required to support production plans.
  • Provide input and participate in discussions on how to best balance the perspectives of plant resource utilization / efficiencies and achieving the required level of customer service.
  • Support individual and cross training programs so to ensure adequate support coverage can be provided always to our various internal customers.
  • Make visible and respond to unexpected procurement and production outcomes that inhibit achieving defined business objectives.
  • Transferring the demand to a supply plan that meets on-time delivery and inventory turn goals.
  • Perform inventory counts as needed
  • Scheduling and coordinating annual inventory counts with outside processors
  • Research and resolve inventory and/or system problems
  • Entering shipping, receiving and production figures into systems

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

  • Associates Degree in Supply Chain or related field and 6-8+ years’ experience OR
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or related field and 0-2 years’ experience
  • Strong Excel skills
