                System Administrator III, Corporate Infrastructure

SUMMARY

Manages and maintains at an advanced level all servers and related entities. Extensive knowledge of

Windows systems, networks and related hardware and software. Experience in multiple areas including

Windows Server 2008 R2 & 2012 R2, iSCSI, Active Directory, ADFS, Group Policy, Azure AD, Hosted

Exchange, Office 365, VMWare, Backup Software, Firewalls, Cisco Meraki, VPN concepts, VLANs and

LAN/WAN architectures. Familiar with Amazon EC2 & VPC, Azure, Sophos UTMs, Linux, and change

management. Provides analysis for problem/resolution. Monitors, manages, and maintains all system

and network technology, bandwidth, performance and metrics.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The following statements are intended to describe the

general nature and level of work being performed by an individual assigned to this job. Other duties may

be assigned.

Supports the company’s network environments. Assists with design, and leads the implementation, and

maintenance of all technology related to infrastructure. Ability to understand business requirements

and translate them into technical requirements. Provides support for related systems. Leads technical

direction according to established policies and procedures. Maintains documentation related to design;

utilizes formal change control processes.

? Provides recommendations to improve reliably and performance, reduce cost and anticipate

company growth.

? Makes design and implementation decisions using best practices and a security first mindset.

? Manages and maintains backup and recovery processes related to system, network and remote

sites.

? Collaborates with other departments for standards and practices.

? Manages and maintains infrastructure components.

? Proactively monitors for performance, load balancing, bandwidth and connectivity.

? Patches systems per internal requirements.

? Has understanding of current operating systems optimal configurations.

? Work with a mindset to ensure that company's policies and standards are followed.

? Creates and maintains documentation including diagrams, models, and procedures.

? Presents to all levels of the organization technical documents, presentations, and proposals.

? Understands and can communicate technical information effectively.

INTERACTION

Interacts with all levels of personnel and outside vendors. Must feel comfortable

communicating in various media, such as written documentation, presentations, email, video,

demonstrations, and training.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

No direct supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION/YEARS EXPERIENCE

? B.S./B.A. in Computer Science, Information Systems, Telecommunications or equivalent experience

preferred

? 7+ years’ experience working in a high?availability network environment

? Proficient knowledge in all areas of Windows system administration including enterprise backup

solutions, anti?virus solutions, patch management and monitoring.

? 7+ years supporting corporate networks

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

? Excellent business process analysis and reengineering

? Experience with project management best practices

? Familiarity with standard IT practices related to business application development and

implementation

? Strong desire to work in a team environment

? Excellent time management skills

? Excellent verbal and written communication skills

? Experience working in a dynamic environment

? Intermediate level skills in Microsoft operating systems, office products, and email

? The work environment is an office setting. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.

? While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand; use hands

and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.

? The associate frequently is required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The associate is

occasionally required to sit, climb, or balance. The associate must be able to move, and control

550 pounds with the aid of dollies and tools; able to lift and move 40 pounds short distances

without mechanical aid and frequently lift and/or move 10 pounds.

? Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to

adjust focus.

? Has own home office with reliable, high speed Internet service with at least 20 Mbps Down and

5 Mbps Up.

? Ability to travel as needed, within Canada and the USA, on occasion for multiple weeks.
