Taste Testers

Adecco Employment Services is currently hiring part time taste testers to work at our client located in Ada, Michigan
Screening and Selection:
Panel applicants will be selected from those completing a prescreening questionnaire.  If selected, you will be scheduled for an interview at our client in Ada.  At the time of the interview, client will administer sensory taste and aroma acuity tests as well as color blindness test to each applicant.  Based on the results of the acuity tests, selected applicants will be scheduled for personal interviews.  Applicants will be notified by telephone if accepted for training and by mail if not accepted.  If you are not accepted, consider applying at the next recruitment, we have selected applicants after the second, even third application!

If accepted, you will be a Novice/trainee until (1) you have completed a minimum of 100 hours training and (2) you can show consistent data within an acceptable statistical standard deviation from the group mean.  Trainees learn both food flavor and food texture analysis. Training constitutes a considerable investment by client in professional time, materials, salary, and technical support. Applicant’s level of interest, sense of adventure, and motivation will be strong factors in the selection process. We are looking for individuals who plan on working for the company for a long time.

Restrictions:  To participate in sensory panel work, prior to panel panelists can not use perfumes or colognes, strongly scented deodorants, soaps and sprays, nor brush teeth, or drink coffee or tea one hour prior to panel.  Would you be willing to do the same if hired? ________________________

Schedules and Availability: You must be regularly available Tuesday - Thursday from 9 to 12. That is, we will not hire anyone with any standing commitments every week.  You may sign out for personal reasons such as vacations but we ask that you be reliable and not abuse the privilege.

On occasion there may be heavy project workload and hours may be extended as optional to those who are available to participate.

Training: We try to establish a consistent training schedule; however, it may be affected by the volume of company business.  Generally, training will be scheduled three times a week from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. or from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

After trainees have completed about 100 hours of flavor and texture training they will begin to work with the regular panelists in session Tuesday – Thursday 9 am to 12 pm.
