Adecco Medical & Science is seeking a FT Technicial Operations Supervisor with 3-5 years experience in Microbiology to work for an challenging opportunity located in Livermore, CA! You will be required to supervise and provide technical support to the Clinical Laboratory Scientists (CLS), Medical Lab Technicians (MLT), Lab Assistants and any other related or relevant positions. You will coordinates the day-to-day activities of the technical lab, including oversight of quality assurance/quality control, customer service, problem solving and occurrence management, safety, process improvement and supervision of Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS), Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) and Lab Assistant personnel.


Evening shifts are Monday - Friday which pays upto $71hr (DOE). Outstanding benefits are included for the right individual!




Job Duties are:

Serves as the communication link between the Technical section staff and the Departmental Manager regarding administrative issues and ensures that staff is kept up to date on personnel policies and procedures.
Interviews, hires and terminates employee, working with the Departmental Manager
Conducts performance reviews within defined timeframes and recommends merit increases
Identifies and prints appropriate LIS Laboratory reports available for statistics, workload, census, tests census/revenue, interim, cumulative, client, worksheets, and billing as applicable.
Maintains a working knowledge of department and section specific safety policies/procedures such as universal precautions (exposure control), biohazard waste, and the Chemical Hygiene Plan, the Injury and Illness Prevention Plan, and disaster preparedness
Assesses and implements effective staff development. Develops training plans and curricula, conducts initial and ongoing training, develops and conducts ongoing competency assessments.
Reviews publications, reads journals, attends seminars, workshops, etc; learning current theory and/or testing applications in the technical disciplines assigned and computerized information systems. Applies expertise to enhance laboratory services.
Assists in the development of departmental goals and objectives. Supervises the implementation of action plans within assigned section to achieved desired outcomes and sustain performance; Assists in the planning, design and implementation of facility remodels and improvements. Solicits staff feedback and input to the process.
Efficiently, effectively and competently performs all functions of a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (minimum 20% of job) including analytical testing, quality control, preventative maintenance.
Maintains complete and current procedure manuals written in accordance with CLSI guidelines. Conducts process analysis, recommends policies, develops and implements technical procedures in a manner that ensures quality results. Ensures that annual administrative review is performed.



Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in relative field
3-5 years experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist required in Microbiology, Molecular or Gen Lab as appropriate for specific department oversight.



License and Certifications:

Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS-L) License/Certifications



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (Required)

Prior supervisory experience is highly desirable.
Experience in personnel management, quality assurance, technical writing, test development, project management, teaching, and demonstrated ability to manage a section’s budget are highly desirable.
Seasoned knowledge of all aspects of the quality assurance of analytic processes of the Clinical Laboratory is required, and knowledge of Laboratory Information Systems is preferred.
Individual must have effective written and oral communication skills, demonstrate an ability to effectively interact with medical professionals, and manage personnel in a variety of situations by effectively applying transactional and transitional skills.
Individual must also have demonstrated ability in project management, managing for results, organizing, prioritizing and managing diverse activities in a changing environment.
