Location: Depew, NY
Hours: 8:00am-5:00pm Monday- Friday
Pay Rate: $21+ per hour based on experience
Duration: 6 months

Description:

Researches, interviews, writes, and edits technical content for ophthalmic products.
Researches and gathers information to compose technical content - this includes interviewing subject matter experts.
Organizes, develops, and composes clear, concise, and readable technical documents that may include diagrams and flow charts, and graphics that must be captured and sometimes manipulated to support content and delivers documents that meet ISO standards as well as industry technical writing standards.
Assists in development and maintenance of company style guides, templates, and document control.
Learn and use MAX mrp system for documenting product returns, complaints, and determining product information.
Interface with dealers and customers providing high quality and timely technical support and product training.
Attend product meetings and work with product teams to improve instrument quality.
Perform dealer training and travel to dealers, doctor’s office, and trade shows as needed from time to time.
Interface products with computers and learn product operation assembly, and protocol of all products (over time).
Work within the standard office guidelines

Requirements:

Two year technical degree with proficiency to perform effective writing and communication in a professional environment.
Experience editing, manipulating, and modifying graphics integral in ophthalmic documentation.
Experience updating, editing, manipulating, and modifying manuals in its source program (e.g., InDesign, Word, etc).
Willing to attend further education as applicable to meet the requirements of technical support (as needed).
Strong writing background in gathering and composing technical, user, operator, and installation guides; parts and service manuals; training literature; and operating procedures.
Ability to interface with approved translation services for the translation of ophthalmic literature and product software.
Strong organizational and problem solving skills with an ability to work independently
