POSITION: Technical Writer
LOCATION: Bridgeton MO
DURATION: 3 Months
HOURS: 8:00AM – 5:00PM
Pay: $34. 40 Per Hour




Seeking a technical writer to supplement the client's marketing communications team and aid in creating and editing technical documentation. These include datasheets, installation and instruction manuals, product sheets and other various documents associated with client’s products and solutions.

The main function of a technical writer is to write technical materials, such as equipment materials, appendices, or operating and maintenance instructions. As the technical writer, you will be responsible for organizing, editing and maintaining technical records and files.

Job Responsibilities:


Organize material and complete writing assignment according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style and terminology. Maintain records and files of work and revisions. Confer with client to establish technical specifications and to determine subject material to be developed for publication.


Create and edit datasheets, installation and instructions manuals, and product sheets
Work with engineering experts and product management teams to gather technical specifications
Distribute final output to related functions for posting and commercialization


Requirements


Experience working in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint plus other related programs
Familiarity and working knowledge with In-Design, Illustrator and Photoshop
Ability to work with a cross-functional team
Attention to detail especially with grammar and punctuation
Must be able to meet tight deadlines



Skills:


Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and manage one’s time
Knowledge of structure and content of English language including meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar
Knowledge of media production, communication and dissemination techniques and methods
Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and measurement of training effects
Basic knowledge of computer software



Education/Experience:


Bachelor's degree required.
0-2 years experience required
