Adecco is currently assisting a local client in their search to fill a Technical Writer job in Lafayette, IN. This is a temporary opportunity. Pay is $17.00-$20.00/hr. depending on experience, Monday through Friday may be some overtime. Must be open to work all shifts.

Responsibilities for this Technical Writer positions include:
- Design, write, and edit user guides, install guides, online help, and training material.
- Generate screen-captured / video tutorials for web-based applications.
- Develop company-wide technical documentation templates and help to ensure that the templates are used appropriately and consistently.
- Perform the duties of technical writer on one or more projects
- Review and ensure quality, technical correctness and instructional soundness of draft/final interactive multimedia lesson segments
- Participate in all phases of project execution (Analysis, Design, Development, and Deployment)
- Select photographs and take photographs, select drawings, diagrams, and charts to illustrate material
- Develop diagrams, charts and graphics, for review and approval by technical specialists and project management ensuring that final documents comply with corresponding standards and style guides.
- Proactively identify documentation areas that need to be updated based on requirement changes.
- Coordinate and participate in project meetings, as well as testing and validation/verification events and document results, meeting minutes and action items, as required
- Work closely with project team to ensure data and documents are archived in a timely manner.
- Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, parts lists, specifications, mock-ups, and product samples to integrate and delineate technology, operating procedure, production and assembly sequence and detail.

Qualifications:
- Understanding of graphic design and layout principles
- Ability to work well within a collaborative team environment including project manager, courseware developers, multimedia developers, graphics artists, and technical editors
- Ability to work independently and ensure performance to deadlines and milestones
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively deliver a complex message - either written or verbal
- General knowledge of using web-based training applications.
- Strong working knowledge of the following productivity software: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator
- Proven experience in writing, editing and typing of reports, studies, and presentation materials of technical information for technical/non-technical audiences
- Experience in interpreting technical documentation standards and has prepared documentation against such standards
- Experience in proofreading documents and ensuring accuracy in spelling and grammar
- Experience in instructional design a plus
