Excellent direct hire opportunity for a first shift Tool Maintenance Operator 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Inspect
  • Service and repair tools
  • In-house design and manufacturing of key cut and forming dies.
  • Maintain and repair high tolerance forming
  • Cut tools to required standards 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues
  • Track tool wear to ensure proper service intervals
  • Maintain records 
  • Maintain spare parts to minimize downtime.
  • Develop relationships with global peers and local third party support
  • Train operators 
  • Supervise press machine's as needed to facilitate effective troubleshooting and resolve issues
  • Set standards on changeover parts
  • Support new tool introductions 
  • Support new tooling developments and standards through participation in global technology groups 

Education / Certifications

  • Technical school or certifications a plus

Relevant Experience and Requirements

  • 6-8+ years machining experience
  • Knowledge of tool making preferred
  • Mechanical aptitude 
  • Experience with manual lathes, milling machines and use of surface grinders
  • Understanding of various classes of fits, clearances, tolerances and close machining tolerances 
  • Mathematically inclined 
  • Experience working with Metric System Dimension
  • Skilled in the use of a wide variety of metals
  • Understanding of the heat treatment of tool steels and familiarity with metallurgy
  • Understand various classes of fits, clearances, tolerances and close machining tolerances
