Adecco Executive Recruiting is currenlty on the hunt for a Tooling Manager for a growing global plastic injection molding company. This is a Direct Hire Job located in Rochester, New York. You will report directly to the Director of Engineering. Job Responsibilities:



Manage daily tool room operations and scheduling/workflow and maximize efficiency by directing jobs to the most qualified personnel. Estimate tool fabrication hours and manage all resource scheduling.
Manage all tool room personnel; assess performance and provide evaluations, administer discipline, oversee vacation, overtime and all other department/plant programs
Ensure that all activities are in compliance with established company procedure/policy.
Establish and maintain a positive service oriented atmosphere. Provide timely build/repair of all tooling activities and respond to requests with a sense of urgency.
Develop, implement and manage key performance indicators of tool room.
Provide specialized technical advice and support on all aspects of tool design, manufacturing and estimating.
Manage tooling maintenance schedules.
Coordinate/participate in internal & external mold design reviews.
Support Engineering and Production Departments with tooling technical problems and manage to guarantee on time availability of tools to ensure continuous program development or production requirements.
Develop and Manage proposals for new equipment, processes or tooling designs which can be assessed for their impact in performance terms and/or assist in developing future budgets.
Provide Sales Engineering Department input for quotations of new tooling, modifications and repairs.

Job Requirements:


Ten years of experience in applicable skilled trades, and/or journeyman experience in a plastic injection mold building environment.
Five years of tool room supervisory/management/leadership experience or managing groups of people in manufacturing, tooling or project environments.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents, blue prints and customer or regulatory policies, procedures and specifications.
Ability to evaluate tooling related issues, define root cause of, make decisions and disposition based on knowledge and experience.
Familiarity with CNC machining requirements and ability to interpret and manipulate part and tooling models in a 3D environment. (Cimitron/Solidworks/Creo).
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Must be proficient in using Microsoft Office applications, Design software, Project Management software and Manufacturing software and have strong computer skills.
Strong communication, leadership, and teambuilding skills.
