Transportation Network Programmer

Role: Transportation Network Programmer

Location: Mountain View, CA

Pay Rate: $60-$70/hr.

Estimated Length: 1 year with the opportunity to extend to 2 years based on performance


The Transportation Network Analyst will be responsible for supporting the cross-functional team with retail network optimization and developing key business insights to drive service, cost and quality improvements. The right candidate must have extensive experience in SQL and network analytics (e.g. linear programming), and be capable of working in an environment with limited information and changing constraints. Strong analytical skills, problem solving skills, common sense and flexibility are equally valued in this role. The candidate must be able to work with cross-functional stakeholders to retrieve data, make and vet assumptions, develop methodologies and solutions with the appropriate amount of QA.


  • Build network model to analyze and forecast the impact of business changes (e.g. new customer SLA, new origin nodes, new delivery area)

  • Unlock key insights from the network model and work with operations team to facilitate actions

  • Build reports for executive briefings; for recurring reports, automate using SQL workflows


  • Bachelor in mathematics, statistics, industrial engineering, operations research or other relevant fields

  • 3+ years experience in SQL and advanced database querying

  • 3+ years of experience in business data analysis and operations modeling, in the logistics and or retail industries is highly preferred

  • Intermediate knowledge in statistics (e.g. ability to interpret regressions) highly preferred

  • Understanding optimization techniques (linear programming - mixed integer programming)

  • Experience in building transportation network optimization models and programming skills are big plus
