Job Title: Transportation Performance Analyst

Location: San Jose, CA

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00/hr.

Estimated Length: 1 year with the opportunity to extend to 2 years

Our client the “World’s largest search engine is seeking a self-starter who can work in a team; has experience in operations (transportation operations preferred), excellent project planning and execution, special focus on creating insights into performance for on-time delivery SLA and quality, and enjoys collaborating and working with others.

 We are interested in a person who will help drive data-driven business decisions in new product / service offerings by executing detailed test designs and communicating in-depth root causes, narrative on the trends of the results and develop plans for improvement after seeing the analysis.  

Role:

  • Create effective tools, reporting, and analysis for all top-level transportation performance, spend, and customer experience network-wide metrics, evolving over time in line with the broader transportation business’ needs

  • Turn raw data into structured data-based insights for broader Transportation team on metrics, which includes trend analysis on week-over-week changes, impact, and high-level root causing

  • Support adhoc modeling and analyses to surface or enable new strategies and/or project initiatives

  • Seek and implement changes with new data sources from large data teams--Operations Analytics, Engineering, and/or external partner vendors--for continuous data improvement

  • Facilitate effective conversations with cross-functional Transportation partners to share performance highlights and lowlights insights, in order to help queue up recommendations & next steps for owners

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately executes primary daily tasks that include, but are not limited to, planning, conducting, accurate and precise reporting, analyzing tests.

  • Manages SLA performance through metrics to meet project deadlines.

  • Daily, Weekly, and Quarterly key performance indicators collection, review, and publishing.

  • Owns accurate data analysis and provides interpretations of trends.

  • Able to communicate key variables that may have affected results or outcome

  • Makes data-driven recommendations for future projects and/or improvements

  • Able to assess situations, communicate roadblocks, offer potential solutions to the issue at hand, and handle and/or escalate issues appropriately and in a timely manner.

  • Adheres to and assists in the implementation of data change management processes.

  • Assist in onboarding of new cross-functional Operations team members on key responsibilities of the current responsibilities

  • Able to perform at a high level when dealing with ambiguity

  • Executes all daily tasks with a sense of purpose as this role moves quickly and is generally critical in time-sensitive business decisions.

  • Able to quickly assess daily activity need and ask specific clarifying questions if any uncertainty within a quick turnaround in order to accomplish task within requested period of time allotted

Skills and Experience Needed:

  • Experience working in fast-­paced environment

  • Strong data housekeeping and general maintenance skills

  • Experience in project management and driving process improvements

  • Experience as a leader

  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Proactive and open communication (written and verbal), ability to ask questions and vocalize concerns

  • Excellent time management and budgeting resources

  • Strong Analytical skills to assess results and form hypotheses on trends

  • Strong at determining and/or anticipating next steps independently

  • Technical abilities within Google Sheets and/or Microsoft Excel

  • Troubleshooting and escalation management skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience preferred

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree required, (Mathematics, Analytics, and/or Science related majors preferred)·       

  • Superb competency in Google Sheets and/or Microsoft excel spreadsheet based data manipulation (graphs, tables, VLOOKUP, equations, and functions).

  • 2+ years of experience in MySQL and/or SQL scripting language required

  • Daily work must be completed in office/on-site.
