Truck Service Advisor

Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers in a timely, friendly, manner.
  • Gather customer complaint details and expectations.
  • Perform vehicle walk around inspection, verify vehicle information.
  • Connect to JPro and perform on the spot vehicle diagnostics.
  • Refer to service history (IE:SIR), recommend additional needed service.
  • Advise customers on the care of their vehicles and the value of maintaining their vehicles in accordance with manufacturers specifications.
  • Write up customers vehicle problems accurately and clearly on a service input card, verify customer information.
  • Establish promised time based on shop workflow, communicate with foreman.
  • Create repair order in the business system, create repair order file and secure service input card with customer signatures in standardized repair order jacket.
  • Schedule service work into the shop.
  • Notify foreman of incoming work, repair order status, and comments in Service Link.
  • Ensure that vehicles are parked in assigned areas.
  • Make sure they are locked, and all keys are marked and put away correctly using standardized key tags. Communicate updates from customer to foreman via comments in Service Link.
  • Contact customers regarding any changes in the estimate or promised time, explains cost and time requirements in detail, and gets proper authorization before any additional repairs are performed.
  • Handle telephone inquiries regarding inbound work and work in process.
  • Must be able to close R.O.s correctly and in a timely manner
  • Review repair orders to ensure that work is completed and additional work and authorization is noted. Close repair order as appropriate.
  • Explain completed work and all charges to customers.
  • Keep service department forms, menus and pricing guides UpToDate.
  • Maintain high customer satisfaction standards (CSI).
  • Ability to operate and understand various PC based programs and invoicing systems.
  • Ability to multitask under pressure.
  • Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Maintain safe work environment by observing safety procedures and by requiring that all staff follow the required safety rules and regulations.
  • Maintain professional appearance and conduct that favorably represents the company.
  • Must demonstrate positive corporate citizenship and the Rush Driving Principles.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; professional demeanor.
