UAT QA Tester

Duration: 4 month contract (possibility to be extended or become perm)
Pay rate: $25.00 per hour
Shift: Mon-Fri 8:00a-5:00p

Objective of the UAT Business Analyst (BA) is to provide business validation and verification of technical solutions through automation and expert knowledge of VPS business operations. The UAT BA role focuses on user acceptance testing for business requested system changes as well as the maintenance of any test scripts and related documentation.

Basic Qualifications Required - Experience, Skills, and Knowledge

BS Degree in Computer Science
1+ years of prior software testing experience
Strong communication skills - written and verbal.
Ability to deal with functional areas in a professional and timely manner.
Make sound decisions with minimal supervision.
Strong analytical skills, with an interest and ability to understand and use new technologies and equipment.
Knowledge and a demonstrated ability to learn a variety of applications including Automation Tools (QTP, RFT, AppPerfect), MS office suite and tracking tools (Quality Center, Test Partner, Jtrac, etc.).
Basic knowledge of Version Control tools, file transfer tools and Database Scripting

Primary Job Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
TECHNICAL EXPERTISE: 15%

Demonstrate knowledge in computer systems
Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
Knowledge of applicable testing tools such as Selenium or Microsoft Test Manager.
Implements manual and automated scripts to test any business acceptance criteria for requested functionality.
Test functionality delivered across applications, clientele and workflows.
Commitment to following established testing practices such a: UI testing and “intangible” testing (i.e. performance SLAs).
Ability to perform root / cause analysis, draw conclusions from test results and make
Relay findings to appropriate teams for resolution.

PROCESS ENGINEERING: 15%

Develop test data to be used in performing required tests
Document test results in the proper logs and/or tracking systems.
Comply with corporate and departmental policies.

TESTING, DEBUGGING, DOCUMENTATION: 50%

Documents and maintains records of testing defects discovered during the test cycle.
Identify flaws, errors, and issues with application functionality, flow and/or program changes.
Research, document, report, and communicate any defects with functionality, flow and/or program changes.
Timely retesting and documentation of the corrections made for defects

PROJECT MANAGEMENT: 10%

Ensures that assigned task is on schedule, or revises schedules as required with the appropriate consultation, approvals and communication. Handles multiple tasks in a small project, concurrently.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: 10%

Show adaptability to changes in priorities when operational demands require it.
Works with guidance and direction from Lead or Supervisor
Apply new knowledge rapidly.
Continuously seek opportunities for professional development.
