Adecco is currently assisting a local client in their search for a Utility Technician in Norman, OK.

Position Requirements:

  • High School Diploma / GED is required. Prefer two year VOTECH degree. 
  • Valid driver’s license is required.
  • Strongly prefer light industrial experience.  This includes experience operating a scissor lift, pneumatic equipment (grinders, sheet metal shears, etc.), and basic hand tools.
  • HVAC experience preferred.  This includes basic electrical knowledge and duct work fabrication.
  • A forklift license is definite plus. If the candidate does not have one, he must be able to take training and pass the licensing test.
  • Must be physically able to go into the manufacturing plant to retrieve parts for engineering tests or product builds.  This may require walking, lifting boxes or parts up to 50 lbs., using a hand cart, and using a drivable cart or fork lift.
  • Prefer someone who has worked in a Lean / Continuous Improvement environment.
  • Prefer basic MS Office skills (Word, Excel)


Job Description:


  • Install test units into test cells.  This will involve using a fork lift to move the units, and using an overhead crane to place the units into the test cell. Finally, install duct work and instrumentation as required. Electrical connections may also be required.
  • Maintain Laboratory supplies.  Refill inventory at designated signals.
  • Enter the manufacturing plant to retrieve parts.
  • May be asked to drive company van to local suppliers to retrieve ordered parts. 
  • Identify process improvement opportunities within daily work. Drive problem solving with appropriate teams.
  • Practice positive employee relations. Promote teamwork and communications.  
  • Maintain Physical & Electronic Unit Inventory
  • Maintain Physical & Electronic Compressor Inventory
  • Empty the metal scrap hopper and Amada slug hopper as needed
  • Empty the waterjet waste water tote as needed
  • Clean waterjet catch tank when needed
  • Maintain copper tubing supply
  • Maintain sheet metal supply
  • Receiving parts, placing them into inventory, and updating a spreadsheet for prototype builds
  • Perform other duties as assigned by UPG Engineering management consistent with company policies and procedures.
