GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Responsible for the Precise  and Safe Operation of Vertical Machining Center (VMC) Equipment to produce products at target volumes that meet customer specifications and O-Flex Metal finishing (OMF) Quality Standards.  Additional duties include proper documentation of production and inspection.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Responsible for the quality of all products produced on his/her VMC.
  • Responsible for the Safe Operation of VMC Equipment
  • Responsible for Routine Maintenance of VMC Equipment
  • Work with the assistance of the quality department to insure product meets quality standards.  Perform quality checks as outlined in work instructions.
  • Maintain proper SPC documentation.
  • Identify and report any safety hazards observed in the work area.
  • Must meet established production rates for all assigned jobs and assisting other jobs as needed.
  • Practice sound housekeeping and safety actions, keeping work area neat and clean at all times.
  • Must be able to work independently using available instructions, but also must be a Team Player.
  • Correctly complete all required paperwork relevant to the operation and enter production data where appropriate.
  • Maintain understanding of production schedule, shop router and quantities.
  • Report any problems Fabrication Team Lead immediately.
  • Assist Team Lead in VMC Set-Up, and First Article Inspection.
  • Understanding of all work instructions and procedures for all machining equipment.
  • Any additional duties as determined by the Fabrication Group Lead
  • Properly follows all company policies

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School graduate or GED
  • Three months experience in operating CNC Machining Equipment.
  • Familiarity of Using SPC in a Manufacturing Environment.
  • Must be able to demonstrate basic math skills.
  • Ability to recognize safety hazards and work within safety guidelines.
  • Must be capable of lifting and moving heavy objects and work in tight spaces.
  • Ability to work on multiple machines simultaneously.
  • Must be capable of standing for long periods.
  • Must be capable of performing repetitive task.
  • Must have working knowledge of micrometers, calipers, tape measures and hand tools.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

Exerting up to 20-50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 10-25 lbs. of force frequently and/or greater than negligible up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.  Physical demand requirements are in excess for sedentary work.

 

SUMMARY OF WORKING CONDITIONS:

 

Employee is aware of potential exposure to hazardous materials, and environmental changes (heat/cold). Must be able to work under stress occasioned by personnel, visitors, and the needs of other departments. Must utilize proper body mechanics.
