Wardrobe Attendants/Costume Dressers

Adecco is assisting Cirque du Soleil recruiting for Wardrobe Attendants/Costume Dressers in Phoenix, AZ. These Wardrobe Attendants/Costume Dressers jobs are temporary positions. Pay rates start at $19.00!
Responsibilities for a Wardrobe Attendant/Costume Dresser include:

  • Report to the head of wardrobe and under the supervision of wardrobe assistants, the main duties are maintaining and dispatching costumes and costume accessories (prep), running the show tracks (dresser), and perform costume repairs through hand and machine stitching.
  • Presetting all costumes and props backstage during show call according to daily cast changes;
  • Daily inspecting of all costumes for holes, tears or stains
  • Daily ironing and steaming of costumes
  • Daily washing of costumes (this includes hand wash and machine wash)
  • Work on sewing or crafts projects
  • Run cue track and assisting artists with dressing and quick changes
  • Be prepared to quickly answer requests coming from artists, wardrobe staff or technical staff under stressful circumstances
  • Maintaining a clean and secure work environment (this includes weekly cleaning of back stage dressing areas and all other wardrobe spaces)
  • Maintain integrity and safety of all costumes and costume accessories (this includes emergency repairs, alteration work and mending work)

Candidates must meet the following requirements to be considered for Wardrobe Attendants/Costume Dressers jobs:
  • A minimum of three years of experience as a professional costume dresser with experience in costume repairs on large-scale stage productions
  • Ability to communicate directly with artists daily in a calm and professional manner
  • Ability to use domestic as well as industrial sewing machines and ability to hand stitch
  • Good health and good eye-sight necessary
  • Being comfortable working in dark confined spaces for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift and carry weights up to 30lbs
  • Wear black clothing (long sleeves, long pants or skirt) while on duty
  • MUST Be available to work 6 days a week for a total average of 45 hours week
  • MUST Be committed to the whole city run
