Warehouse Counter Sales


Warehouse and Counter Salesperson - located in Kearny Mesa Full-time Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, occasional Saturdays 

Job Summary:
Counter Salespeople/Warehouse employees provide sales and support to walk-in customers at our will-call sales counters, ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction. They maintain, stock and clean the counter sales area merchandise and displays, and support Inside Sales and Outside Sales activities. They are generally responsible for counting, verifying and receiving incoming vendor shipments and customer return material; for stocking and maintaining the warehouse; and for picking, documenting and packing customer orders in accordance with Company policy and procedure. Their attention to detail ensures the highest levels of customer satisfaction.

Job Duties: 
- Perform all job functions in accordance with the company’s Safety Standards.
- Receiving Duties
- Upon receipt of a vendor shipment or customer return, obtain the packing slip and count and verify material received. Note received quantities and all shipping discrepancies (overshipments, undershipments, mis-shipments, damage/shorted freight claim) on the packing slip.
- Print and verify the computer receiving documents and receive material in the system or, when applicable, forward the receiving documents to the office personnel for data entry.
- Identify nonstock, special order material and damaged material and store in proper warehouse locations.
- Note all shipping discrepancies on freight carrier’s Bill of Lading; initiate freight claims with freight carriers or forward appropriate paperwork to designated employee.
- Picking and Shipping Duties
- Pick material for orders, note quantities picked on the shipping document, assemble and package the materials for shipment/pick up.
- Check picked material against printed ticket to ensure accuracy.
- Complete necessary documentation for customer shipments delivered via third-party carrier 

-  Assist customers who purchase and/or pick up merchandise at the Profit Center.
- Process and fill Sales Orders generated at the sales counter.
- Ensure the customer signs and dates each Sales Ticket. 
- Provide customers with reliable information regarding product specifications, pricing and
- Keep counter area and merchandise displays clean, neat, current, stocked and safely displayed.
- Ensure security and control is upheld at this primary point of customer contact.
- Communicate to the Profit Center Manager and Credit Manager any changes in a customer’s
business that might cause a credit risk.
- Process cash sale returns and refund paperwork in accordance with Company policy and

Education, Training, Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years of experience in customer service and WH receiving and material handling experience
