Operations Manager

In the Operations Manager role, you will be responsible for the smooth operations of the entire facility, working directly with the corporate office, customer service and marketing to ensure operational excellence across various departments.  You will work with Supervisors to ensure the warehouse performs efficiently while maintaining high levels of quality and customer service by providing leadership to shipping, receiving and value-added service teams through coaching, guiding and developing skills. This position monitors the operations budget and ensures proper accounting of all purchases and transactions.   In addition, the Operations Manager will serve as a local change leader, responsible for successfully implementing all processing strategies.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Establishes standard and emergency operating procedures for warehouse operations
  • Interviews, selects, and trains warehouse and supervisory personnel.
  • Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules and expedites workflow.
  • Assessing performance and providing feedback to supervisor
  • Establishing and adjusting work procedures and shift schedules to meet deadlines as dictated by volume
  • Developing a schedule and priorities for all request processing
  • Understanding and providing leadership support for safety and security within the warehouse
  • Supervising and monitoring the execution of client requests
  • Establishing and delivering on metrics to drive performance improvement
  • Develops, recommends, and implements changes in working conditions to improve packing methods.
  • Develops and implements plans for facility modification in space allocation and warehouse design.
  • Implementing continuous process improvement initiatives that reduce cost of operations while improving service level, capacity, productivity and quality


Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Proficient in MS Office; experience working in a Windows environment.
  • Ability to learn internal ADMIN system.
  • Requires analytical thinking and presenting ideas
  • Provides leadership and able to motivate, direct, and lead others
  • Able to clearly and systematically write SOP's, Manuals, etc.
  • Sound judgement and reasoning.
  • 3+ years of prior supervisory / leadership experience.
  • Experience with Google Sites, Gmail and Google Chrome preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Positive, customer care focus; strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with vendors
  • Ability to work in a team environment with a variety of individuals, including Logistics, Customer Service, and Corporate staff.
  • Able to perform physical tasks with repetitive lifting of up to 50lbs for consecutive hours to provide training
  • Excellent organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and competing deadlines.
