Adecco is currently assisting one of our clients with a Wastewater Treatment Electrical/Instrumentation Technician. This is a direct hire position. 40 hours/week, Monday – Friday. If you feel you qualify please apply.



Under the general direction of Plant Manager and/or Lead Operator, responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and repair of the wastewater treatment plant electrical/instrumentation equipment, pump station electrical/instrumentation equipment and performs related work as required.



·         May be required to supervise the work of crew members as needed.

·         May be required to train and/or assist in the training of O&M Tech IV’s, III’s, II’s, I’s, OIT’s and assigned temporary helpers in electrical/instrumentation work.

·         Required to cover off shifts independently and serve as on-call operator if a SWRCB Grade III license is obtained.



·         High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

·         Completion of Apprenticeship Program and/or Vocational Degree or equivalent is preferred.

·         Possession of CWEA Electrical/Instrumentation Grade III certificate or the ability to obtain within 12 months of hire date. (Not applicable to temporary help)

·         Valid CA Driver’s License and the ability to meet risk management guidelines is required. 



Work Experience Needed:

·         Minimum 7 years operational experience in heavy industrial environment.

·         Working experience of a 460V 3-phase systems, PLC controls, computer programming, SCADA systems, open and close loop controls, preventive/corrective maintenance tasks, calibration of plant instrumentation system and equipment.

·         Working experience with both power and control circuits.

·         Working experience to effectively read electrical wiring and ladder schematics. 


Special Skills/Abilities Needed:

·         Must have knowledge of wastewater instrumentation and controls or similar processes.

·         Familiarity and adherence to all environmental and safety compliance regulations.

·         Ability to work independently and prioritize work activities.

·         Ability to work with all levels of personnel.

·         Computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel, Word, Outlook and familiarity with CMMS maintenance programs.


Nature & Scope-Principal Areas of Responsibilities:

·         Inspects, troubleshoots and repairs various types of electrical/electronic equipment and devices (including SCADA systems, instruments, motor controls and three wire control circuits).

·         Troubleshoot and repair mechanical/electrical equipment malfunctions.

·         Will have the ability to react to unplanned events and emergency situations.

·         Inspect and calibrate plant equipment.

·         Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on plant equipment according to manufacturers’ and SUEZ recommended Best Maintenance Practices.

·         Install various types of electrical/electronic equipment and devices and observe safe work practices.

·         Performs general administration and maintenance of plant SCADA equipment including HMI and PLC equipment.
