Wave Planner

Job Summary

The role of the Wave Planner is to use the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to distribute work across the DC in the most efficient manner possible. The flow (client orders) and release of 'picks' is distributed across the DC and the process path (single, multi, ship alone) using software and continuous communication in a dynamic environment.

Shifts Available:
Sunday - Thursady – 5PM to 1:30AM

Sunday - Thursady– 6AM to 2:30PM 

 

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

Wave planners need to have a strong understanding of client order priorities in order to plan and release work according to priorities.

• Effectively communicates with outbound supervisors

• Strong understanding and knowledge of WMS wave planning software is needed to evaluate issues and to maximize efficiency

• Provide feedback to supervisors on issue impacting work flow

• Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment

• Solve work flow issue using knowledge of all DC operations

• Effectively communicates issues and directions to associates

• Evaluates work processes for efficiency

• Investigates and resolves work flow issues

• Any and all other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager

• Follows all safety guidelines and performs in a safe and careful manner


Physical Demands

• Must possess visual acuity to read labels, RF scanners and to maneuver throughout facility

• Must be able to hear and understand verbal instructions

• Must possess capability to walk or stand for extended periods of time

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

• Must be able to push or pull carts of up to 100 pounds

• Must be able to climb stairs

• Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel and grasp products

• Most facilities are climate controlled


Education/Experience/Certifications

High school diploma or equivalent; one to two years related experience and/or training in warehousing or distribution operations; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
