Our client in Norfolk VA is seeking not 1 but 2 welders to join their 2nd shift operation from 4pm-230am Monday - Thursday. This is a DIRECT HIRE position, meaning, if you are selected for this position you would work directly for my client! (Awesome right?)

Welder I is responsible for the layout, fitting and welding of fabricated parts and components to form a permanent bond.  


Include the following, but other duties may be assigned.

  • Weld metal components and parts such as gas welders and gas torches. 
  • Use electrical currents to create head and bond metals.
  • Plans work by reading and interpreting blue prints.
  • Bolt, clamp, and tack-weld parts to secure in position for welding.
  • Set up equipment using proper amperage setting and feed rates for MIG wire.
  • Verify welded components meet drawing requirements.
  • Repair products 
  • Utilize standard measuring devices such as tape measures, scales, squares, etc.
  • Utilize MIG, TIG and FLUX CORE welding processes.



  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Minimum one year of welding experience.
  • Proficient in MIG, TIG, and FLUX CORE welding processes.
  • Basic knowledge of blueprints and all welding symbols.
  • Proficient in the use of standard measuring devices such as tape measures, scales, squares, etc.
