Adecco Direct Placement is recruiting on behalf of our client in the Fuel Cell industry for the position of Sales Manager covering the West Coast of the United States. In this role, the Sales Manager will target the following verticals: telecom, mission critical (first responders, data centers, hospitals) and niche industrial markets. Qualified candidates for this role will have a successful sales history of selling energy solutions into the aforementioned verticals. This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports. Interested candidates will need to have the flexibility to travel when necessary. This is a work from home opportunity, and our client is seeking a true sales hunter!

Responsible for the expansion and delivery of new market sales penetration and identifying new opportunities for sales and distribution development in the West Coast of the US market: core verticals: telecom, mission critical (first responders, data centers, hospitals) and niche industrial markets
Delivering a robust tactical plan to achieve the given strategic business plan in line with company growth targets and objectives.
Establishing the Company and its product positioning in the market via Direct Sales and Distribution Development and Management via Distributor Appointments.
Managing operations to deliver company KPIs for the region, Sales volumes, Profitability and Distributor network development to include: appointment, coaching, mentoring, business planning and review, Sales volumes.
Full accountability for effective planning, implementation and management of sales plans, managing all aspects of business operations for your region
Take ownership of the set and agreed annual budget, manage, orchestrate and thus execute the sales and business plan for country of responsibility as set by the VP of Sales


Sales experience from the fuel cell industry
Experience from a start-up company – advantage
Self-motivated individual with a hunter mentality; taking ownership of all sales and pre sales activities.
Pro-active sales approach to develop new business with the ability to strategically and tactically generate new opportunities through a structured methodology that is goal oriented; target set and measurable.
Delivering the highest standards of customer service so the need to have impeccable written and language skills coupled with a formal self appearance set of standards are vital
Excellent interpersonal skills at all levels, including people-management, leadership coupled with an awareness of communicating across cultures.
Must be educated to degree level or equivalent, preferably with a technical qualification or experience in electrical engineering coupled with a financial qualifications or training – a solid understanding of budgeting and financial planning is essential as this role involves agreeing annual budgets as well as producing financial reports on customer deal structures.
Proven sales record established within a B2B sales environment, with a technical focused product range with supporting background and industry knowledge of solution application selling.
This job requires a clear understanding of how to present a solution to the end client and successful candidates will have a proven track record demonstrating their understanding and business acumen
General management experience (Order management and forecast planning profit/loss appreciation and application) is essential for this position
Excellent networking skills and need to demonstrate that they are referenced from within the relevant industry; for example - Utility sectors or other mission critical verticals
Knowledge and experience of the Energy Sector, competing products and market competitors
Must be competent with computer software programs e.g. Word, Excel, Power point, generic CRM systems, Salesforce, Outlook etc.
